Tetramerotarsata Liberevenata Turbanoculata
Anteropatellata Baetovectata Baetungulata Labiobaetis/f1=Guajirolus/g1 - Labiobaetis/f2=g1)

Nomen hierarchicum: Labiobaetis/f2=g1 [g:1987] (sine Pseudopannota)

In circumscription fits:

 gen. Labiobaetis Novikova & Kluge 1987: 13

Nominal taxa included:

Müllerbaetis/g [g:1994]

Cymulabaetis/g(1) [g:1995]

References. Kluge & Novikova 2016:

Plesiomorphies and variable characters of Labiobaetis/f2=g1.

(1) In larval labium, paraglossae are more or less strengthened and widened, and paraglossae are diminished (Kluge & Novikova 2016: Fig.126). The same in some other taxa.

(2) Labial palp has large apical-medial projection (Kluge & Novikova 2016: Fig.126). The same in some other taxa.

(3) Prostheca of right (as well as left) mandible always stick-shape, denticulate apically [see Turbanoculata (6)] (unlike Takobia/g1 et al. see Index of characters [1.1.25]); inner margin of both mandibles between prostheca and mola always without setae (unlike Cloeon/fg1 et al. see Index of characters [1.1.23]).

(4) Larval antennae bases are brought together in variable degree, frons between them elevated and forms more or less expressed keel. The same in some other taxa (see Index of charactes [1.1.3]).

(5) Hind wing [see Turbanoculata (10)] if present, is of "Acentrella-type": not wide (narrower than in Baetofemorata, but wider than in Acentrella/fg1), only with 2 longitudinal veins without furcation; costal projection is usually absent, only calcaratus [Baetis] has small costal projection. In many species hind wings are lost (see Index of characters [2.2.59-60]).

(6) In larva, on inner side of femur near base, at the place where Baetofemorata has a field of small setae pressed together [comp.: Baetofemorata (1)], small setae can be completely absent, or several separate setae are present, or there is a field of setae brought together; in the last case these setae are not pressed together (there can be only groups of 24 setae pressed together), unlike Baetofemorata. All these variants can be found in different specimens or on different legs of the same species (particularly, in atrebatinus [B.]).

(7) Larval paracercus is developed.

(8) In larva, segments of caudalii can be uniform, or (in desertus [Baetis]) each 4th or each 2nd segment differs by darkened and large denticles (the same in Cloeon/fg1 and some other groups).

Size. Fore wing length 26 mm (see Tetramerotarsata).

Distribution. Afrotropical, Oriental, Holarctic Regions and Australia.
