Autapomorphies of Clypeocaenis/g2.

(1) Maxillary palp [filtering – see Clypeocaenis/fg1 (1)] is 2-segmented, as its initial 2nd and 3rd segments are completely fused. Non-unique apomorphy (see Index of characters [1.1.42]); among Caenoptera the same in Brachycercus/f1=g3.

(2) Filtering setae on fore tibia and tarsus [see Clypeocaenis/fg1 (1)] are situated not only on inner, but also on dorsal (anterior) side.

Size. Fore wing length 2–5 mm.

Distribution. Asia and Africa.
