MODERN STATUS: the oldest synonym of a widely used name Paraneoptera Martynov 1923; non-monosemantic synonym either of Parametabola Crampton 1938, or of Acercaria Borner 1904.

COMMENT. Originally (Crampton 1919) the taxon Panhomoptera did neither include, nor exclude Zoraptera, which were not mentioned. Thus, the name Panhomoptera can be applied both to the taxon including Zoraptera (Panhomoptera s.l. = Parametabola Crampton 1938) and to the taxon which does not include Zoraptera (Panhomoptera s.str. = Acercaria Borner 1904).
