Autapomorphy of Atalophlebolinguata.

(1) Hypopharynx with a pair of lateral flattened processes, which arise near its base, are directed laterally and arched distally. These processes never undergo reduction and are retained in all representatives of Atalophlebomaxillata, independently of specialization of their mouthparts. Besides Atalophlebolinguata, hypopharyngeal processes are found only in Calliarcys, where they have different shape and arise more distally.

Size. Fore wing length 2–15 mm.
