References.
Chen & Zheng 2023:
Characters of Siphlonephemerella of unclear phylogenetic status (1) On fore wing CuP in its proximal part is connected with CuA by a constant crossvein cua-cup, and with AA – by a constant crossvein cup-aa; cua-cup is located more distally than cup-aa; CuP arises from CuA under acute angle (plesiomorphic condition) and is sharply bent at the place of connection with cua-cup (Chen & Zheng 2023: Fig. 3B). The same in Ephemerella/fg1 [see Ephemerella/fg1 (6)]. (2) On hind wing MA is not forked (Chen & Zheng 2023: Fig. 3B); the same in all Furcatergaliae and some others (see Index of characters [2.2.67]). (3) Imaginal and subimaginal claws (initially ephemeropteroid) on each leg are similar and pointed (Chen & Zheng 2023: Fig. 2D-E). Non-unique apomorphy (see Index of characters [2.2.85]). Plesiomorphies of Siphlonephemerella. (4) Imaginal and subimaginal tarsi are 5-segmented, 1st segment is the longest, fused with tibia (Chen & Zheng 2023: Fig. 2C-G) [n contrast to all Furcatergaliae, including Ephemerella/fg1, whose 1st tarsomere is shortened – see Furcatergaliae (2)]. |
Size. Fore wing length 6.5 mm.
Age. Middle Cretaceous (Myanmar).
