Autapomorphy of Timpanoga/fg3.

(1) Larval claws without denticles [see Ephemerella/fg1 (18)]. Non-unique apomorphy.

Plesiomorphies of Timpanoga/fg3. Unlike Eurylophella/g1, tergalius IV with distal margin obliquely truncate or incised [see Ephemerella/fg2 (2)], only partly covers tergalii behind it.

Size. Fore wing length 6–14 mm.

Distribution. Nearctic.
