Plesiomorphies of Thamnodontus. Larva with normal proportions (unlike Atopopus/fg1); larval abdomen without median ridge or spines (unlike Notacanthurus) and with posterolateral spines not enlarged (unlike Ecdyonuroides). Penis lobes [see Pentamerotarsata (5)] with distinct ventral and outer sclerites (unlike Electrogena) and with well-developed titillators contiguous medially (unlike Afronurus/g1). |
