Autapomorphies of Leptophlebia/fg3.

(1) Penis lobes divided, each with a long ventral process, which arises near apex and is directed proximally, reaching base of penis.

Characters of Leptophlebia/fg3 of unclear phylogenetic status. 

(2) Tergalii II–VII have branches divided nearly up to base.

(3) Third segment of labial palp is widest in its middle part (in contrast to Neoleptophlebia, Habrophlebiodes/g1 and many Atalophleboadentata, where it is widest at base).

Plesiomorphy of Leptophlebia/fg3. 

(4) Hind wing without costal projection, with Sc reaching wing apex (unlike Habrophlebiodes/fg1).

Size. Fore wing length 5–13 mm.

Distribution. Holarctic.
