Autapomorphies of Paracloeodes/g1.

() Left and right gonovectes are fused medially by their apices.

Characters of Paracloeodes/g1 of unclear phylogenetic status.

() Larval antennae bases are brought together, frons between them forms a longitudinal keel. The same in some other taxa (see Index of charactes [1.1.3]).

() Mandibles of «Centroptilum-type»: kinetodontium is more or less separated from incisor (but immovable) and rotated perpendicular to the plane of mandible, so that its denticles hide one another in dorsal or ventral view; left prostheca is bifurcate and rotated in the same manner (see Index of characters [1.1.22], [1.1.24]).

() Larval abdominal terga lack wide scales [see Turbanoculata (12)] (see ?? Index of characters [1.3.4]).

() Tergalii are unable to make rhythmical respiratory movements. Non-unique apomorphy (see Index of characters [1.3.30])

() In mature larva ready to moult to subimago buds of subimaginal gonostyli [see Baetovectata (3)] are folded under larval cuticle by the "Labiobaetis-type" (2nd segment directed medially, 3rd segment bent anteriorly) (see Index of characters [2.3.9]) (unlike other Neotropical Turbanoculata).

Plesiomorphies of Paracloeodes/g1.

Unlike Baetungulata, claw with 2 rows of denticles.

Size. Fore wing length ?–? mm (see Tetramerotarsata).

Distribution. New World (Nearctic and Neotropical Regions).

The taxon Paracloeodes/g1 is divided into:

1. pm. Paracloeodes/g2 (incl. Iguaria)
