Autapomorphies of Crassolus. (1) Gonovetes with apices sharply bent cranially and widened halberd-like (Kluge & al. 2020: Fig.140-143, 146, 150-152) (unique apomorphy). (2) Sterno-styligeral muscle is entirely lost (Kluge & al. 2020: Fig.141, 146, 151). The same in some other taxa (see Index of characters [2.3.7]). Characters of Crassolus of unclear phylogenetic status (probable plesiomorphies. (3) In larva, posterior arm of U-shaped row of long setae [see Centroptella/g1 ()] on fore- and middle leg is situated more transversely than longitudinally and crosses tibia (Kluge & al. 2020: Fig.90-92). The same in Chopralla, in contrast to Centroptella/g3. (4) In larva, claws usually with 2 short rows of denticles (Kluge & al. 2020: Fig.126-127). The same in Chopralla, in contrast to Centroptella/g3. (5) In larva, denticles on posterior margins of abdominal terga are present beginning from tergum I or II (Kluge & al. 2020: Fig.94-102). The same in Centroptella/g3, in contrast to Chopralla. (6) Abdominal sternum VI with pair of regular transverse rows of bifurcate setae (besides such rows on sterna IV–V) (Kluge & al. 2020: Fig.118). The same in Centroptella/g3, in contrast to Chopralla. |
Size. Fore wing length 4.5–6.5 mm (see Tetramerotarsata).
Distribution. Oriental, Afrotropical and Palaearctic Regions.
