oldest name of a generally accepted plesiomorphon.
COMMENT. Possibly to Exostrepsiptera belong extinct Mengea tertiaria (Grote 1886) and M. mengei Kulicka 1979, known from Baltic amber as male imagines; like Exostrepsiptera, they retain 5-segmented tarsi with developed claws. In this case the correct name of the whole taxon should be not Mengenilla/fg [fg:1910], but Mengea/fg [f:1908; g:1886].
