(Panephemeroptera Euephemeroptera Euplectoptera Anteritorna Bidentiseta Furcatergaliae
Leptophlebia/fg1 Atalophleboadentata Atalophlebopectinata - Habrophlebia/fg1)

Nomen hierarchicum: Habrophlebia/fg1 [f:1994; g:1881] (incl. Habroleptoides)

In circumscription fits:

— gen. Habrophlebia: Eaton 1881

— subfam. Habrophlebiinae: Kluge 1994

Autapomorphies of Habrophlebia/fg1.

(1) Superlinguae are curved and stretched laterally, pointed.

(2) Penis lobes are divergent V-shapely, each lobe apically with a long pointed process directed proximally-medially-ventrally (Gaino & Rebora 1995).

Characters of Habrophlebia/fg1 of unclear phylogenetic status.

(3) In larva patella-tibial suture is lost on middle leg, being retained on hind leg only (on fore leg it is absent, as well as in majority of Ephemeroptera). Unlike larva, in subimago and imago patella-tibial suture is retained on middle and hind legs. The same in some Atalophlebolinguata (see Index of characters [1.2.18], ibid. [2.2.82]).

(4) Hind wing is diminished; it has well-developed costal projection near middle of wing; costal field distad of costal projection is strongly narrowed or absent. Non-unique apomorphy, the same in Habrophlebiodes, Calliarcys and some Atalophlebolinguata (see Index of characters [2.2.61-62]).

Plesiomorphies of Habrophlebia/fg1. Imaginal and subimaginal claws are ephemeropteroid (only in selected species on fore legs of male both claws are blunt) (see Index of characters [2.2.85]).

Size. Fore wing length 4–13 mm.

Distribution. Holarctic.
