Characters of Hindocloeon of unclear phylogenetic status.

Larva.

(1) Labrum with 1 paired midway seta between submedian setae and submarginal arc of setae (Kluge & Suttinun 2020: Fig.60; Kluge 2012: Fig.2)

(2) Incisor of left mandible terminated by 4 denticles, 2nd denticle longest; incisor of right mandible terminated by 4 denticles, 3rd denticle longest (Kluge & Suttinun 2020: Fig.64–66; Kluge 2012: Fig.16–17)

(3) Left mandible with setae proximad of prostheca (Kluge & Suttinun 2020: Fig.64; Kluge 2012: Fig.16)

(4) Mola of left mandible without setae on proximal angle (Kluge & Suttinun 2020: Fig.64) (in contrast to right mandible—Fig.65).

(5) Maxillary palp consists of 3 subequally long segments (Kluge & Suttinun 2020: Fig.69–70; Kluge 2012: Fig.5)

(6) Paraglossae widened from base to midlength; dorso-median setal row consists of 4–5 setae (Kluge & Suttinun 2020: Fig.74).

(7) Labial palp without point on apico-median projection of 2nd segment (Kluge & Suttinun 2020: Fig.71–73); Kluge 2012: Fig.3); in contrast to Indocloeon/g2, exuviae of palp retains its shape.

(8) Tibiae of middle and hind legs, in contrast to tibia of fore leg, has undetermined number of stout setae along outer margin, all these setae being smaller than the outer-apical seta of fore tibia (Kluge & Suttinun 2020: Fig.77).

Imago and subimago.

(9) Antenna: distal part of scapus with hypodermal pigmented spots on lateral and median sides; distal part of pedicellus with hypodermal pigmented spots on lateral and median sides (Kluge & Suttinun 2020: Fig.92)

(10) First abdominal segment usually with a pair of contrasting brown hypodermal lateral spots just ventrad of metathoracic postnotum (Kluge & Suttinun 2020: Fig.93–95, 97, 100, 114, 115, 117)

(11) Abdominal terga without such transverse stripes as in Indocloeon/g1.

Subimaginal cuticle.

(12) Postsubalar sclerite with postero-dorsal angle shortly stretched (Kluge & Suttinun 2020: Fig.91; Kluge 2012: Fig.26).

Genitals of male imago.

(13) Styliger lacks median impression (Kluge & Suttinun 2020: Fig. 101; Kluge 2012: Fig.24, 28)

(14) Each gonovectis is divided into a proximal portion immovably attached to penial bridge and a movably articulated distal portion; the distal portion is narrow at base and plate-like widened distally; gonovectal muscle is partly attached to proximal portion, partly—to movable distal portion of gonovectis (Kluge & Suttinun 2020: Fig.101; Kluge 2012: Fig.24).

Egg.

(15) Surface without net-like relief and without sharply outlined cavities other than micropilar area (Kluge & Suttinun 2020: Fig.106–111).

Size. Fore wing length 3.3–5 mm (see Tetramerotarsata).

Distribution. Oriental Region.
