Autapomorphies of Glossiodion.

() Labium [see Turbanoculata (7)] is modified: paraglossae are widened and glossae are diminished (similar to Labiobaetis/f2=g1); 2nd segment of labial palp [initially widened - see (?)] is secondarily narrowed (Lugo-Ortiz & McCafferty 1988: Fig9).

() Denticles on posterior margins of larval abdominal terga and sterna [see (?)] are lost on most segments, but present on 10th tergite and paraprocts.

Characters of  Glossiodion of unclear phylogenetic status. 

() Median sterno-styligeral muscle is lost (see Index of characters [2.3.7])
