(1) Hind wing diminished, but with relatively very large hooked costal projection of peculiar shape.

Plesiomorphies of Callibaetoides. Maxillary palp 3-segmented. Abdominal terga with scales in wide sockets [see Turbanoculata (12)] (see Index of characters [1.3.4]).

Size. Fore wing length 4 mm (see Tetramerotarsata).

Distribution. America (Nearctic and Neotropical Regions).
